Le Philosophe – Saint-Victor
On the border of the authentic village of Deyras our B&B is located
between some of the numerous orchards this hilly area contains.
The typical “mas-Ardèchois” was baptized Le Philosophe.
This
name Le Philosophe arose in our head but resulted in a new way of
living. After many years of exploring France in search of the perfect
location we got enchanted by the charming region of the Ardèche and its
typical houses.
Our B&B opens the beginning of May and closes by the end of August. Other periods are also possible after consultation.

- Rooms
Each rooms has it own bathroom and toilet, some rooms are even equiped with a walk-in shower. Each year we invest a lot of time and effort to keep the rooms up to date and make your stay more pleasant. Down below you will find an overview of both double rooms and family rooms.
Double rooms
These rooms are equiped with a double bed of 140cm, a lot of storage space is foreseen to put away your luggage. The bathroom and toilet are only accessible from the rooms. Below you can find some pictures to get a quick impression of the rooms.
Family rooms
The rooms are very spacious and can accommodate up to 6 persons. A big double bed (180cm) is provided a long with some single beds. As in the double rooms these rooms have direct access to their bathroom and toilet and are equiped with lots of storage space.
- Rates*
Room price for 2 persons : 74 euro / night
Each person extra costs 15 euro.
For each baby or dog one has to pay 5 euro extra.
When you book a minimum stay of 7 nights there’s a reduction of 10% on the room’s price.
When making reservations for 1 night there’s an extra fee of 10 euro.
These prices include a large belgium style breakfast.
- Dinner
Six out of seven evenings we offer “Table d’hôte” whilst the other evening is being used to philosophise about new menus we could offer. Adults are served a three course menu including all the wine you want, children can choose for the whole menu or just the main dish. The plates we serve are inspired by Belgian gastronomy but the final touch is typically French. Once a week we put only regional ingredients on the plate and on the other we try to organize a Belgian style barbecue. Back in Belgium we took several cooking courses in the reputed school “Spermalie” in order to serve you only the best meals using the finest ingredients.
- Disabled persons
Two rooms are accessible for wheelchair patients.

Het was ons 2de keer dat we voor een week verbleven in Le Philosophe. De gastheer en vrouw zijn 2 aangename mensen de gastvrijheid valt er onmiddelijk op, we voelen er ons onmiddelijk thuis. De kamers zijn er dik in orde, proper, gezellig, netjes afgewerkt, ... De table d'hôtes is er lekker en in goed gezelschap. De omgeving is rustig, oogverblindend en er is van alles te doen op vrije korte afstand oa. rafting, ... Je kan er terecht voor rust en een stevige wandeling. We gaan zeker nog eens terug.

prachtig chambre d'hote, keurig schoon, heel rustig en wordt beheerd door een schitterend stel mensen, die heel lief en zorgzaam zijn voor hun gasten en ook nog eens voor de nodige entertainment zorgen. Een echte aanrader en wij gaan zeker nog eens terug.
