Bedrooms
The two guestrooms of Maison Fontaines are situated within the house where also the owners reside. One guestroom is on the second floor and features an en suite bathroom with a shower/bath, bidet and lavatory. The other room is on the third floor and guests make use of the same bathroom on the second floor. In order to provide maximum privacy, it is only possible to rent the second room when you are befriended with- or related to the guests in the first room. Both rooms have a comfortable double bed and acosy seating area. Wi-Fi and linen are provided.
Breakfast
You are most welcome to enjoy breakfast in our homely dining-kitchen. Another idea is walking to the local bakery where breakfast is served inside or outside. A typical French happening itself !
Table d’hôtes
At request we will be delighted to provide a three-course dinner including a wine arrangement in our homely dining/kitchen area on the first floor. Special menu wishes will be taken into consideration. Weather permitting, pre-dinner drinks and nibbles will be served on the roof terrace with stunning views over the old Bargemon rooftops. From this terrace you can look away some 50 kilometres over the village of Claviers which provides a picturesque picture just before sunset.

Transfer service
If you wish we can arrange your transport from the airport or train station. From Nice Airport, Marseille or Toulon to Bargemon and return. Or from the train station in Draguignan/Les Arcs to Bargemon and back.
BARGEMON
The mountain village of Bargemon is situated in the ‘departement Le Var’, Northeast of Draguignan at a height of 500 meters. For centuries this delightful mediaeval village provided inspiration to a host of famous inhabitants. Academics, alchemists, poets and painters all enjoyed the tranquillity and sheer beauty of this luxuriant Provencal hillside village. Surrounded by olive orchards, with narrow little streets, charming squares , sparkling fountains and impressive plan-trees; Bargemon will be an everlasting memory.
Facilities of the village
With just over 1,200 inhabitants Bargemon might be small but it provides all the comforts of a bigger town. For your daily needs there are a supermarket, a green grocer, baker, butcher, the Presse, and the tobacconist. Pubs, terraces, restaurants, bistro’s and pizzeria’s all add to the ambiance of this Provencal village. Galleries and boutiques are open during the season while the local community provides a varied programme of activities all year round. The doors of the library and museum are open all seasons and the Syndicate d’Initiative (the Tourist office) has a host of suggestions and things to do in the immediate surroundings.
There is also a local GP and a chemist; so everything is catered for. Also the mineral water spring of the ‘Source Couchoire’ is worth mentioning. When needed, you will find bigger supermarkets in Fayence, Draguignan or Le Muy. As far as local markets are concerned: you will be able to find one, every day, not too far away!
SURROUNDINGS
Bargemon is a perfect starting place for cycling, walking or aquatic sports with the Lac St. Croix, the Lac St. Cassien and the Gorges du Verdun nearby. Golfers will enjoy the course in St. Andréol or, a little further away, at Roquebrune. Paragliding, tennis and horse riding also belong to the possibilities while in July and August you can take a refreshing plunge in the local ‘piscine municipal’.
Distances
Marseille is at a driving distance of around two hours from Bargemon and it will take some 75 minutes to get to Nice. Just 45 minutes away you can enjoy the sea side atmosphere in Fréjus, St. Maxime and St. Tropez. But also day trips to Aix-en-Provence and Arles can be recommended.
