Manoir Ogygia – Poperinge

On Friday, April 11th 2003 the sparkling new charming hotel Manoir Ogygia welcomed its first guests. Manoir Ogygia is located in a castle park in the Veurnestraat in Poperinge and aims at people who enjoy life at the fullest. The hotel is the property of the couple Carmen Logie and Kris Pollentier.

Manoir Ogygia - a name derived from Greek mythology - has nine rooms (two of which are duplex) on the ground and first floor with a total capacity of 22 guests. The top floor houses a public relaxation area (so even when you are not staying at the hotel, you can use it) equipped with a Jacuzzi, sauna, steam shower, a cosy corner, bar, television, etc.

Manoir Ogygia reinforces the offer of luxurious hotel rooms in the Hoppeland and complies with the increasing demands for comfortable, safe and high quality rooms in a unique environment that are also accessible for wheelchair users.

Ideal for a "Westhoek, sheer wonder" documentary? Or a background report with a perfect mix of relaxation and tourism? An example of the integration of a new hotel in a castle park next to a 19th century château?

Not renovated, new! It might seem improbable to those unfamiliar with the castle park, but Manoir Ogygia was completely built from scratch, be it with respect for the environment (castle park and former Merris castle). Architect Luc Vandewynckel (Poperinge) and the interior decorating teams managed to create the illusion of a renovated 19th century manor, providing Manoir Ogygia with a soul, charm and authentic warmth.

Castle: the ground floor of the castle has been renovated and is now used as a restaurant wher you can have a bistro or refined dinner.

Rooms

Each room a world on its own: the ground floor houses four rooms.
Each room is named after a goddess and has its own identity, shown by the different colours or parquet flooring, different curtains and stores, bed and bath linen and even a different paper basket…
The sanitary equipment is very diverse. Certain rooms on the ground floor offer a unique view of (and direct access to) the garden.
Each room has the same standards of comfort (television set, minibar, bathroom and toilet) and is 100% safe (smoke and gas detectors, use of fire retardant or fireproof materials).
The staircase to the first floor has a double-height railing.

Breakfast

Breakfast à la Manet: the word breakfast does not do honour to this delicious event after a good night's sleep.
In the breakfast hall, while enjoying a splendid breakfast buffet, you have a truly magnificent view of the castle park.
You are practically sitting under the Japanese cherries and birch trees.
Manet described it as a "déjeuner sur l'herbe". On sunny days, Manoir Ogygia serves breakfast on the garden terrace.
You will never want to leave again …
If you "have" to stay inside because of the weather, you can admire the roof construction, the chandelier, the lighting, the furniture or the old stove.
An adjacent kitchen has everything you need for a perfect breakfast.

Dinner

The restaurant is situated in the little castle near the hotel. On reservation, there
